Gail T. Mason

Indianapolis

Mrs. Gail T. Mason was born May 1, 1958 in Indianapolis, IN, the daughter of Donald L. Hayes (deceased) and Juanita F. Hayes (Alexander). Gail attended Indianapolis public schools #87, #69, and John Marshall High School. Upon graduating high school, she attended the house of Jayne Beauty College, where she became a licensed cosmetologist/beautician. Gail had many clients over the years who followed her wherever she relocated to. Even during her illness some would jokingly ask if there was some way she could still do their hair. As of January 1, 2020, and over 40 years of doing hair, Gail decided to retire due to declining health. She asked that all keep her in prayer and keep in touch. Gail was united in Holy matrimony to Michael D. Mason Sr. on March 19, 1977. To this union two children were born, Michael Jr. and Sharon. Gail always had a quiet spirit. During her illness her daughter nicknamed her “Sunshine” and her son always told her how strong she was. Both children would always tell their mom they love her. Gail loved taking care of her teeth, even during her illness before breakfast she softly said, “I have to brush my teeth.” Gail loved to travel, only her and Mike together. She loved the ocean and beach collecting seashells. Gail was the baby sister and was deeply loved and cared for by her big sisters Diane and Sharon “Baboo.” They often called Gail “Sissy” and will forever cherish the memories of their “baby sister.” Gail was baptized and became a member of the word of God Christian Tabernacle Church in 2003 under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Marlin, where she served on the Usher Board. In 2011 she became a member of the Mount Zion Apostolic Church under the leadership of Bishop Lambert Gates Sr. there she served on the Hospitality Committee and was a faithful servant of God. Gail departed this life on September 1, 2020 at the age of 62 years. Gail was preceded in death by her father Donald L. Hayes. She leaves to cherish her beloved and caring husband Michael Mason Sr, son Michael Masson Jr, and Sharon Beeler (William). Grandchildren William III, Isaiah, Jaden, and Aliyah Beeler. Mother Juanita Hayes, and sister Diane Thompson (John), Sharon Hooten, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and church family.
