Gabrielle "Gabby" Aizza Dos Santos Marshall

Gabrielle (Gabby) Aizza Dos Santos Marshall, 19, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 23, 2020, after being involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Gabby was born September 19, 2001, in Montgomery, Ohio, to Roseangela (Lima Santos) and Andrew Marshall.

Gabby graduated from Carmel High School, Carmel, Indiana, in June 2020. She was a student at IUPUI in Indianapolis and had just been accepted to Herron School of Art and Design in Indianapolis where she planned to attend in January 2021 to major in Graphic Design.

Gabby was known for her huge heart and compassion for others, always standing up for those who had been wronged. She was wise beyond her years and asked for very little in life—- with the exception of books! She had a huge love for both reading and learning. She embraced the idea of acquiring new knowledge— and marveled at the act of gaining insight and perspective to better understand her place in life. She was a fervent young woman who journaled regularly about ways to be the best version of herself. She was passionate about animals, the arts, and ridding the world of injustices.

It was hearty anticipation that her family clung to, waiting to see what great things this vibrant young woman would go on to accomplish. Gabby’s time was cut short and while those “great things” will forever remain a mystery, her family takes much comfort knowing that those who crossed Gabby’s path are better people for it.

Gabby was a cherished daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece and friend. She is survived by her parents Andrew and Roseangela of Carmel, IN, and brother, Franciel Santos of Carmel, IN. She also leaves behind paternal grandparents Phil and Cecile Gibson of Grand Rivers, KY, Jim and Anita Marshall of Panama City, FL, and maternal grandparents Maria Silva and Joaquin Alves Dos Santos of Brazil. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins, her special friend, Ahmad Barhoumi of Ann Arbor, Michigan and her four-legged friend, June, of Carmel, IN.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 29 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel from 1-3 p.m. A memorial service will be held immediately following the visitation at 3:00, also at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel, officiated by Aaron Lake of Greater Grace Church, Muncie, IN.

In lieu of flowers, the family is suggesting donations be made to the Hamilton County Animal Shelter in Noblesville, IN where Gabby often volunteered her time— or to any literacy program to honor Gabby’s love and appreciation for reading.
