Gabriella (Gabby) Maestri Lambert November 22, 1933-November 9, 2024
Gabby was born in Carisolo, Italy on November 22, 1933 to Rodolpho and Carlina Maestri. When she was 13, her father sent for her, her mother, and her sister Ada to come to the United States. She learned to navigate city streets and to speak English in a first-grade classroom. Years later, she met the love of her life, Jerry Lambert. She and Jerry married on June 6, 1959. She became a homemaker and mother to four boys. In 1971, life dealt her a hard blow by making her a widow after losing her Jerry to pancreatic cancer. She persevered through the darkest days of her life by becoming a seamstress to support her boys. Her strength and will to push forward helped her to raise those four boys into good men.
Family was the most important thing to Gabby. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but her greatest joy came when each of her grandchildren arrived. She loved her role as Nonna and loved teaching her grandchildren little phrases in Italian such as ti amo tonto (I love you very much).
Gabby will always be remembered for her laughter, little quotes, and advice for those she loved. God packed a lot of spunk and determination into such a little package. She was an avid bingo player and a fan of Tom Jones.
Gabby is survived by a sister Julia (David) Haas; her four sons Randy (Deb) Lambert, Rob (Brenda) Lambert, Jerry (Kelly) Lambert, and Harry Lambert; grandchildren Danny (Ashlee) Lambert, Amy (Taylor) Goode, Rachael Lambert, Nicholas Lambert, Jacob (Kylie) Lambert, and Emily (Noah) DiRuzza; and eight great-children: Braden, Savannah, Kaiden, Colton, Emersyn, Audrie, Greyson, and Evie. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Jerry, sister Ada Mina, and brother Charlie Maestri.
