G. Marie Cornelius

G. Marie Cornelius, 93, of Manilla, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away at home on Saturday, September 28, 2019. She was born on March 1, 1926 in Beech Grove, IN to the late William R. and Lillian (Ferguson) Denney. Marie attended Arsenal Tech High School but left early to go to work to support the war effort. She married the love of her life, Albert ‘Bud’ Cornelius on Christmas Day, 1943. Marie was a devout Christian woman who enjoyed reading her bible and attending church services. She was a private person who was content to be at home crocheting, and spending time with her family. Marie is survived by her sons, Randy (Tammy) Cornelius and Ron Cornelius; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband; son, Stevie Cornelius; and daughter, Vicky Dameron. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 from 10am - 12pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East with funeral services immediately following.
