Freeman Simmons, the son of Henry and Sally Simmons, was born January 17, 1951 in Clay County (Goodwater), Alabama. Freeman was baptized as a child establishing his committed relationship with the Lord.
He attended Bunker Hill Elementary School until his mother moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 1960. Afterwards, he attended Elementary School #41. He then attended Shortridge High School from which he graduated. He also attended college at North Dakota State.
Freeman was always known to be a compassionate, loving person. He always enjoyed working with his hands, rather it be at work, at home, or even in the yard.
Freeman Simmons went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the age of 67 years, surrounded by family and friends.
Freeman was preceded in death by his parents and sister, The Late Eunice Smith.
He is survived by his three children: Eric Simmons, Jason Simmons, and Mika Simmons; grandchildren: Erica and Erin; siblings: Georgette Jackson, Jimmie (Sherlynn) Simmons, and Dwight Simmons; brother-in-law, Wyatt Smith; a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
