Fredrick Q. Miller (83) of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, with his daughters by his side.
Fred was born on March 20th, 1941, in Syracuse, Indiana, to Levi and Treva (Mullet) Miller. He graduated from Millersburg High School and moved to Indianapolis where he married the love of his life, Judith Kuntz on November 25, 1967.
“Fred the Barber” enjoyed an impressive 62-year career on the east side of Indianapolis. He drew in thousands of customers, many of whom became close friends. He was a proud dad and grandpa, an exceptional bowler, and loved to be on the golf course. Fred had a knack for making people laugh and made friends wherever he went. He will be missed by many.
Fred is survived by his daughters Lisa Smitherman, Angie Summers, and Lauri Phillips (Brian); grandchildren Morgan, Nathan, Brooklyn, Drew, Isaac, Allie, and Norah; great-grandchildren Ella, Jaylen, Riley, and Sylas; siblings Rodney, Sandra, and Marlin.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judy; daughter Mary Ellen; parents Levi and Treva Miller; siblings Willie, Myrna, Larry, and Herb.
A gathering of friends and family is scheduled for Thur, January 16th, 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East. A Funeral Mass will be held on Fri, January 17th, 10:00 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church. Fred will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
