Fred Williams

95, McCordsville, formerly of New York, passed away December 10, 2016. Fred was born in Wilmington, NC on September 25, 1921. Fred, a retired Safety Officer for the State of New York, was a veteran of the US Army and member of the 369th Veterans Association. He enjoyed tinkering with electronics, volunteering his time for various political groups, traveling and spending time with his beloved family.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Pauline (Davis) Williams; brothers, Ike and Enoch Williams and sister, Emma Wilson.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Florence (White) Williams; daughters: Deborah Wilson (James Wilson, Jr), Barbara Wooten and Denise Williams; grandchildren: Alexandria Hyche (Michael), Kimberly Acuff (Michael), Brandon Wooten and Alyssa Wooten; great-grandchildren: Kamryn, Kinsley, Olivia, Natalie, Taytem and Michael “Mikey”; as well as many other extended family members and friends.

Friends may call from 11am until 1pm on Thursday, December 15, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, where his funeral service will immediately follow at 1pm, with Rev. Rickey McCray to officiate. Burial with military honors by the U.S. Army and Indianapolis Metropolitan Military Honor Guard will follow services in Washington Park East Cemetery.
