Frank Robert Kontor, 84, of Noblesville, passed away April 4, 2023. He was born January 26, 1939, in Gary, IN the son of the late Frank and Helen (Feterick) Kontor. He married Gloria Gudinas on June 11, 1960. She preceded him in passing on January 2, 2019, after 59 years of marriage.
Frank was a graduate of Gary Froebel High School. He retired from U.S. Steel where he was a manager in data processing.
Frank was a devout Catholic and active member of St. Stephen the Martyr Catholic Church in Merrillville. He served as chairman of the Festival, RCIA team, and various other committees. Frank was also active within the Cursillo community. After moving to Noblesville, he became a member at Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Noblesville. He enjoyed playing golf, the slots, and having his usual 5:00 cocktail. Frank loved traveling with Gloria, family, and friends. Especially their many trips to Florida and Las Vegas. Frank’s greatest enjoyment was spending time with his beloved grandchildren and attending all their events.
He is survived by two children, Sheryl (Scott) Babb and son, Jeff (Robin) Kontor; and four grandchildren, Corey Babb, Matt Babb, Courtney (Matt) Robinson, and Frankie Kontor; great grandson, Robert “Bo” Thomas Robinson; and a sister, Carol (Steve) Vogt. He was preceded in passing by a grandson, Jordan Kontor; and three sisters, Irene Gannon, Corky Knaver, and DeeDee Skrivan.
A private family service is planned for a future date. Memorial contributions may be made to the foundation formed in honor of Frank’s grandson, Jordan: JoJo’s Jumpstart Foundation www.jojosjumpstart.org. Donations may be sent to 413 Chris Lane, Noblesville, IN 46062. Arrangements were entrusted to Flanner Buchanan – Hamilton Memorial Park.
