Frank J. “Bud” Roth, 75 of was born July 6, 1942 in Chicago to the late Harold J. and Josephine M. Roth. He was a graduate of Carthage College in Kenosha, WI and a veteran of the US Army, discharged in 1969. Bud was a certified executive coach and consultant with Roth Consulting Group LLC, which he started in 2001. Bud was an involved member of Cornerstone Lutheran Church and many other personal and professional organizations in his community.
Husband, Father, Papa, Brother and friend to all. Always up for a fun adventure with family or a party with friends. We all remember Bud in our own special way, but all know him as a fun, kind, caring person with a huge heart and always-reliable advice. Glowingly proud of his immediate and extended family, Bud loved nothing more than being together with them at every holiday and special event. His kids and grandkids remember him best for his calming presence, high integrity, caring heart and guiding wisdom. Along with his Donald Duck impression and “Fly Away Blackbird” trick, his grandkids will always remember Papa teaching them about fishing, hunting, outdoor safety; and his story telling of his experiences and family history. Along with family, Bud enjoyed sailing, golfing, reading and life-long learning. Bud’s strong Christian faith and his responsibility to his family led his every day.
Having lived in Illinois, Connecticut, Singapore, Missouri, Nebraska and Indiana, Bud showed his family as much of the world as he could, providing experiences of different cultures, people and places (he taught us how to say “thank you” in each counties’ language we visited!). Along with teaching us how to “fish,” literally and metaphorically, Dad passed along numerous personal and professional lessons – many of which he documented in his book “Be More Productive – Slow Down”, a guide for focusing on what is truly important and designing the life and work you want.
As an executive coach and consultant, Bud led with integrity as he instilled solid values and compassionate principals with the endearing love he had for helping others. He gave limitlessly of his time, always initially by “listening” to find ways he could help (he even took sales people’s cold calls!). Bud was truly sincere and generous with his time and talents.
Bud will be forever missed by all, but especially by Cathy, his wife of 50 years… The love of her life – her best friend – someone she experienced her “everything” with. Bud will also be endearingly missed by his children, David Roth (Brittany), Cindy Leake (Bart), Amy Roth, and seven grandchildren, Preston, Ryan, Annie, Nathan, Dylan, Fisher and Britton, as well as his brother, John Roth (Patty).
Respected by all, his legacy will forever live on. Bud will be truly missed by all who knew him.
