Frank Charles Dixon

Frank Charles Dixon, age 83 of Indianapolis passed away on November 21, 2016. He was born March 27, 1933 in Blackey, Kentucky to William and Ruth Dixon. He served in the US Army and retired from Allison Gas Turbine as a Skilled Tradesman. He was a member of UAW 933 and the Masonic Lodge #723. Frank was an avid bowler, loved fishing and was an accomplished wood worker. He attended Mars Hill Free Methodist Church.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 61 years, Grace, his daughter, Robin Sharp, his sisters, Sarah and Agnes and brother, James. Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Anthony (Lisa Alexander) Dixon, and Stephen (Debra) Dixon, his sisters, Billie and Nancy and his brother, Bobby, four grandchildren, Jeremiah Dixon, Selena Dixon-Van Sickle, Monica Sharp, and Lindsey Workman. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, Katilyn, Jack, Adisyn, Jacob, Chase, Ethan and Daisy.

Friends may visit from 4-8 PM Friday November 25, 2016 at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis. The funeral service will be at 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made in his memory to Mars Hill Free Methodist Church, 3900 S Farnsworth St, Indianapolis, IN 46241 and to The Kidney Foundation.
