Francis “Frank” W. Fannon, 69, Indianapolis, passed away March 3, 2018. He was born May 1, 1948, in Cumberland, MD, the son of the late Francis E. and Elizabeth (Travis) Fannon. He married Susana Belaunde on July 22, 1972.
Frank graduated from Lasalle High School in 1966, earned a computer science-focused Associate’s degree from the Northern Virginia Community College and continued a life of learning. After serving as trooper with the Maryland State Police, Frank led teams over several years at Amtrak, and was a sought-after project manager with IBM and as an independent contractor. Frank was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, stamp collecting, model building and woodworking.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susana Fannon; son, Francis “Frank” R. (Mercer) Fannon; three granddaughters, Madeline, Charlotte, and Phoebe, Alexandria, VA; sister, Christine Fannon, Greeley, CO; two sisters-in-law, Isabel (Richard) Lynch, Sterling, VA, and Claudia (Bill) Deffenbaugh, Carmel, IN; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in passing by his father and mother-in-law, Oscar and Maria Belaunde.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7575 Holliday Drive East. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a prayer service beginning at 6:30 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018, at Flanner Buchanan – Carmel, 325 East Carmel Drive.
