Frances E. Dietrich passed away December 15, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
Frances was born in Indianapolis on June 21, 1921 to Martin Christian and Daisy Mae (Parnell) Kritsch. She graduated from Manual High School early at the age of 17 and received a scholarship to attend a business college where she spent the next two years. She then met the love of her life, Robert William Dietrich Sr. whom she married on October 4, 1942 and they settled in Speedway. A devoted resident of Speedway, she was proud of her community and hosted many get-togethers for her family after races and holidays. After 34 years of marriage, Frances lost her husband at an early age.
Frances was a member of the Eastern Star and a leader with her children’s Girl Scout groups. When she was not caring for her family, you would find Frances reading, gardening, bowling, doing crossword puzzles, or playing bridge. She will be remembered for her quick wit, great sense of humor, and unfailing love and acceptance of her family.
She dedicated her life to her family which included her children Donna K. Curtis (Glenn), Nancy J. Vermillion (Russell), Robert W. Dietrich Jr. (Suzie), and the late Cynthia A. Wisniewski; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
A Visitation will be held at Flanner and Buchanan-Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46228 on December 18, 2015 from 11am-1pm. A Funeral Service will follow at 1pm. Entombment will take place at Washington Park North Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
As Frances would always say to her family as they were leaving – Tally Ho!!
