On the evening of May 21, 2022, an angel of the Lord appeared and took Frances R. Bills home.
Frances R. Bills was born April 29, 1938, in Nepton, Kentucky to the late Walter and Lucy Queen Williams. She was the 6th child in a family of nine children.
Frances accepted Christ at an early age in Nepton, Kentucky at the 1st Baptist Church.
Frances attended Fleming County High School and graduated in 1956. Shortly after high school, she worked the tobacco fields with her family. After graduation from high school, Frances relocated to Indianapolis to be close to her brothers Marvin, and Jim.
After relocating to Indianapolis, Frances immediately found a church home in CMBC Indy Church. She was a faithful usher and dedicated member. Later, Frances joined Easter Star Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor Jeffery A. Johnson, Sr., where she still was an active member until her death.
Frances was a housekeeper, nanny, and chef for several families in her early years. She later was employed by Marquette Manor for over 27 years as Executive Chef retiring at age 67. She was an extremely talented chef and baker; catering and hosting many parties over the years.
Frances was known for making delicious yeast rolls, cakes, pies, cookies, fudge, and chocolate turtles for family and friends. She was very passionate about exercise; she worked out 3 – 4 times a week. She loved to go shopping in the stores or through a catalog.
Frances will most be remembered for her warm smile, and her kind and giving heart. Even in sickness, Frances still had a smile and thought for others. She was a dedicated bonus mom, sister, sister-in-law, great aunt, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was a supportive and dependable friend to all that came in contact with her. Frances loved the Lord and her family, her friends, and her church. She will be greatly missed by all.
Frances died at the age of 84 and was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Lucy; brother (John Walter), sister (Margaret Lewis), brother (Jim), brother (Marvin), brother (Paul), sister (Viola), and brother (Arthur). She leaves to cherish her memory, one brother Robert (Sandy); special nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives, and many friends.
Graveside Service will be held in Washington Park North Cemetery Friday, May 27, 2022, at 12:00pm. Family and Friends will Gather prior at 11:30 am in Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park North.
