Pastor Floyd Edward Tyree, 83 of Mooresville, IN went home to his heavenly home on August 4, 2020. He was born in Simpson County, Kentucky to the late Lawrence Edward and Montry (Allen) Tyree. Pastor Tyree proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for Ford Motor Co. for over 30 years as a Machine Repairman and he also served as the pastor of Charity Chapel General Baptist Church and Gethsemane General Baptist Church for many years. Pastor Tyree was called by God to be His servant and he answered the call to preach and serve Him and he spent his time preaching the gospel to all those who would listen. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years of marriage, Bertha L. (Keen) Tyree, his children, Jacqueline Denise Drain, Robert Edward (Debbie) Tyree, James William Tyree, Dale Allen (Janet) Tyree, Foster Daughter, Nevaeh Amick, 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, sister Ann Marie Schwartz, and his brother, Doris “Wayne” Tyree. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his son-in-law, Richard Lippitz. Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2020 1 PM at Flanner Buchanan Decatur Township with visitation there Friday, August 28, 2020 4-8 PM. Facial coverings are required and current local restrictions are in place. Pastor Tyree will be laid to rest at West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, IN.
