Floyd C. Morgan, 90, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away March 17, 2019. He was born May 19, 1928 in Gainesboro, Tennessee to Johnny and Lou Vernia Morgan.
Floyd moved to Indianapolis more than 60 years ago in search of employment. He worked for Muehlstein Rubber Company for many years until his retirement in 1989. He met the love of his life, Geneva M. Mathews as a teen. The two married in 1951 and spent 50 beautiful years together raising their family. They remained deeply in love at Geneva’s passing in 2001. Floyd was happiest when he was working, he loved to stay busy at work but also enjoyed cutting down trees. He was a quiet man who kept to mostly himself in his final years, but family can find peace in knowing he was a Godly man and they will see him again some day.
He is preceded in death by parents, Johnny and Lou Vernia (Denton) Morgan; wife, Geneva M. Morgan (Mathews); siblings, Willard Otis Morgan, Mary Frances Lawson (Morgan), and Bobby Glenn Morgan. Surviving to cherish his memory are children, Janie Frances (Paul) Johnson (Morgan), Lloyd Collins Morgan, and William Earl Morgan; grandchildren, William Earl Morgan, Jr., Micheal Louis Morgan, Justin Ryan Morgan, Alex Nelson Morgan, Kayla Nicole Morgan; great-grandchildren, Kenzie Lynn Morgan; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.
All are welcome to visit Thursday, March 21 from 12-2 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN 46221. Funeral services will take place same day at 2 PM. Floyd will be laid to rest immediately following services at West Newton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Floyd’s memory to: Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 E 91st St, Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46240. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home for those wishing to donate.
