Florence Louise Williams

Florence Louise Williams, 89, of McCordsville, Indiana, passed away on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, 2021. In Florence’s final moments, her family showered her with love before she transitioned to be with the Lord. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, to the late William Lee and Florence L. Byard White on October 17, 1932.

Florence was a beloved wife and best friend to her late husband, Fred D. Williams of McCordsville, Indiana. Three lovely daughters were born of this unity and she spent much of her time tending to the needs of the family. While the girls were young, Florence served on the P.T.A. committee, as a Girl Scout Troop Leader, and as a classroom parent. In between her family activities, Florence found joy in sewing and often made clothing or embroidered curtains for her home. In addition, she loved cooking, dancing, laughing, and attending family gatherings or game nights. Florence loved chatting with her loved ones, whether via phone or in-person where she often shared words of wisdom.

Florence is survived by her brother, Norman White, daughters: Deborah (James) Wilson, Jr. of McCordsville, IN, Barbara Wooten of Ashburn, VA, and Denise Williams of Fishers, IN; grandchildren: Alexandria (Michael) Hyche, Kimberly (Michael) Acuff, Sr., Brandon Wooten, and Alyssa Wooten; great-grandchildren: Taytem Hyche, Kamryn Hyche, Michael Acuff, Jr., Olivia Wright, Natalie Acuff, and Kinsley Hyche; as well as a large host of nieces and nephews she loved and cherished.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents, William and Florence White, husband, Fred D. Williams, and siblings: Clarence White, Bill White, Evelyn White, Jannet Trotman, Rosie Hodge, Christine Young, and Audrey White.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Visitation will be held from 12pm to 2pm, with funeral services beginning at 2pm at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis IN 46229. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery. The family requests that guests wear masks while in attendance.
