Florence “Eloise” Smoot-Russell

93, of Columbus IN, formerly of Indianapolis, died Friday, January20, 2017, at Silver Oaks Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Spencer, IN on April 10, 1923 to the Late Fred and Dorothy Fines. She loved her family and the Indy 500, having lived in Indianapolis most of her life. Eloise enjoyed playing and watching golf, playing dominoes and Mah Jongg.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Harry “Mike” Smoot and David A. Russell; her sister, Reba M. Reimer; and her grandson, Scott A. Smoot. She is survived by her children: Stephen P. Smoot (Beverly), Fred M. Smoot (Carol), Dorothy A. Smoot; her friend, Cynthia G. Beam; her sister, Imogene Miller (Aunt Jeanie); her grandchildren: Kevin A. Smoot (Leiana), Michael T. Smoot (Jennifer Williams), Eric Bastin (Olivia), and Ryan Bastin (Lisa); her great-grandchildren: Tyler Carr, Mara Bastin, Anna Bastin, Matthew R. Smoot, McKenzie A. Smoot, Brielle O. Smoot. Jacob S. G. Smoot, Anderson W. Smoot, and Laurel C. Smoot, as well as extended family and friends.

Friends may call from 4pm until 8pm, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan- Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, with additional calling from 11:30 am until service time at 1pm Wednesday at the funeral center.
