We celebrate the life of Felicitas Lopez Jose, 93, beloved daughter, sister, godmother, aunt and friend. Felicitas was born in Manila, Philippines on December 13, 1930. While at Holy Ghost College and Far Eastern University in Manila, she dedicated her mind to studying and teaching pharmaceutical chemistry. Following her undergraduate studies, she began graduate work in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, graduating with a Master's degree in 1957. An esteemed position as an Organic Chemist at Eli Lilly and Company brought Felicitas to Indianapolis, IN in 1961. She worked at Lilly for 26 years eventually retiring at 57 years of age to care for her father.
Felicitas was a woman of service faithfully giving and caring for everyone with love and tenderness in everything she did. Her charity went beyond family to friends and others in need. Her generosity of spirit and humility aligned closely with her devotion to the Catholic church. Felicitas will be remembered by those who loved her as a scientist, a teacher, a caregiver, a mother figure, a mentor, an expert chef, and a friend.
Join us as we honor her legacy and remember the impact she had on all those whose lives she touched. A mass will be held in her honor at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 10:30 am on Feb. 17, 2024.
