Faye Massengale

Faye Maxine Massengale was born on January 8, 1933, in Monticello, Kentucky, and passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at the age of 92.

Faye was the beloved wife of the late Leonard Massengale and the cherished daughter of the late Granville and Flonnie Huffaker Foister.

She is survived by her loving children: Donna L. (Michael L.) Cooper, Ronnie W. (Debbie Smith) Massengale, Shanda F. (Gregory P.) Babinec, and Tanya G. (Jeffrey G.) Willis. Faye was a devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren: Jason Cooper, Lauren Taylor, Wayne Massengale, Courtney Massengale, Allisha Taylor, Ava Babinec, Stephanie Pereda, and Hanna Willis. She was also blessed with many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Faye is also survived by her sister, Christine “Teenie” Morrow, and two brothers, Ken and David Foister.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Leonard Massengale; her son, Gary Dale Massengale; two sisters, Ila Turner and Audrey Bell; and five brothers, Orace Foister, Gerald Foister, Howard Foister, Johnny Foister, and Cecil Foister.

Lovingly known as “Mamaw” by her family and many others, Faye had a heart big enough to love everyone as her own. She brought joy to every room she entered and made all feel welcome. She loved to play Bingo and never turned down a good game of Rook. Faye adored wearing bright lipstick and bold, colorful jewelry. She had an incredible sense of humor and will be missed for many years to come.

 A Celebration of Faye’s life will be held at a later date.
