Everett Edward Layman passed away peacefully at the age of 78 after a brave battle with Alzheimer’s Disease on March 18, 2023.
Everett was born on June 20, 1944, in Logansport, Indiana to the late Everett Ellis Layman and Vera Jane (Zellers) Layman. After graduating from Logansport High School, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War as a Helicopter Crew Chief. Six months before leaving the military, he married the love of his life, Jacquelyn Louise (Fiser) Layman, the woman who would stand by his side through thick and thin. After Everett completed his Associates Degree in Business, he worked for various companies, including Philip Morris, Scot Lad Foods, and Roundy’s. He was respected by his colleagues and loved by the people he worked with.
Everett was a selfless man. He focused on providing his family with the best life possible. His ability to sacrifice, provide for, and support his family will be forever appreciated. Everett enjoyed telling stories and helping people. He was always approachable and never met a stranger.
Everett leaves behind his devoted wife, Jackie, of 55 years of marriage; his sister Jane (David) Davis; his children Chad (Mandi) Layman, Shawn (Jena) Layman, and Heather (Layman) Boyd; his seven grandchildren Harrison, Claire, William, Ella, Courtney, Kristin, and Kyle.
