Eva L. Smith, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away December 23rd, 2023. She was born February 7th, 1933, in Mead, Oklahoma to parents Ervin and Vera (Murphree) Talley.
In 1961, she married the love of her life, Charles Smith. They shared 62 wonderful years together.
She accepted the Lord in 1969 and was an active, valued member of Southwood Baptist Church for many years. Her faith was very important to her.
Eva was a loving, vibrant lady who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an immaculate housekeeper and enjoyed tending to her home and yard. In her younger years, she was a talented square dancer and loved playing table tennis. Eva and her family have cherished memories of traveling to surrounding lakes, waterskiing, and boating. She was also a die-hard Pacer’s fan.
Eva was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend. She will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Charles; her children Belinda (Andy) Davis, and Jackie (Greg) Craig; grandchildren Deryl (Tracy) Pittman, Angie (Jerry) Scott; great grandchildren Justin Hall, Tyler Hall, Nick Hall, Sean Wamsley, and Brooke McCroy; and seven great-great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation for Eva will be Friday December 29th, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East from 10-1pm. Her funeral will begin at 1pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Southwood Baptist Church.
