Eugene Maurice "Gene" Gray

Eugene M. “Gene” Gray, 88 of Brownsburg, IN passed away November 17, 2020. He was born April 12, 1932 in Beech Grove, IN to the late Earle M. and Jesse (Rutherford) Gray. Gene retired from Western Electric in 1984 after 34 years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a member of the American Legion in Brownsburg, IN. Gene loved to spend time with his family, and enjoyed camping, fishing, traveling, reading and was a bit of a handyman fixing most anything. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Betty R. (Butler) Gray, his children, Earle M. (Tammy) Gray, Sandra (Tom) Brown, his grandchildren, Eric (Shawn Johnson) Gray, Adam (Kaileigh) Brown, Alison Brown, and his sister, Leora Wilson. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his sisters, Earlene Davis, Mary Ellen Strauss and his brother, William S. Gray. Service and visitation will be private at the family’s request and he will be entombed at Floral Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Indianapolis, IN. The family request any memorial gift be directed to Calvary United Methodist Church in Brownsburg, IN, Brownsburg American Legion or the Honor Flight Program.
