Erwin Foster “Buddy” Worton 95 of Indianapolis died April 17, 2018. Buddy was born on February 26, 1923 in Indianapolis to James Corbert and Sarah Grace (Miller) Worton. Buddy served our country during WWII in the United States Navy. He was a traveling experimental certified welder for Detroit Diesel Allison Division of General Motors at several of the plants, retiring in 1981. Buddy was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and he was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife; Betty Jane (Fredrick) Worton in 2017 and two sons; David Lee and James Calvin Worton and his 7 siblings. Calling will be held on Monday April 23, 2018 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church 963 North Girls School Road from 11 am to 1 pm followed by the funeral service at 1 pm. Buddy is survived by his son; William “Bill’” Richard (Lyn) Worton, his grandson; Tim (Laurie) Worton and 2 bonus grandchildren; Marcy (Jason) Sell and Matthew (Leann) Bean, 7 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren; 3 nieces and 2 nephews and 5 great nephews and his sister in law; Marilyn (Jim) Buckhorn. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association. Flanner Buchanan-Speedway are handling arrangements.
