Ernestine Ford

Ernestine Brown Ford daughter of the late Robert Brown and Elzia Bester Brown, was born on April 25, 1930 in Inverness, MS.

Ernestine professed her faith in Christ at an early age. Throughout her adult life, Ernestine was a member of Christ Missionary Baptist Church, as she aged she moved her membership to New Spiritual Life Christian Church and her current church home, New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, she was a faithful member until she became ill. Over the years, she has been a member of multiple church ministries demonstrating her love and fellowship with God’s people. Ernestine lived every day honoring God for his blessings.

Ernestine graduated from Humphrey County Training High School located in Louise Ms. In 1949. She worked at Lane Bryant, retiring in 1986. During retirement, she enjoyed reading the newspaper and the Bible daily until her eyes began to fail.
Ernestine was united in Holy Matrimony to Raymond F. Ford, Sr. Together they enjoyed their children, grandchildren, family time and traveling, until his death in 1986. She was a loving mother with seven children. Family was very important to her, and she was always full of encouragement and Godly advice.

Ernestine Brown Ford was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 30, 2017, at the age of 87 years and 5 days. Ernestine was proceeded in death by her husband Raymond F. Ford, Sr.; son Sydney Ford; daughter Lynda S. Brown White.
Ernestine leaves to cherish her precious memory, three sons: Wayne D. Brown, Sr. (Debra), Raymond F. Ford, Jr., Timmy Ford (Nicole); two daughters: Yvonne Brown Gilliam (Mark), Priscilla Ford-Paltin (Stan); Brother: Ernest Brown; Five sisters: Rosie Hudson, Betty Amicks, Daisy Owens, Christine Thomas, Catherlean Hollifield; Grandchildren: Felecia M. Patton (Gerald), Steven M. Patton Jr. (Judeana), Angela Owsley, Wayne D. Brown, Jr. (Nichelle), Jerry E. Owsley (De`Andre), Robert L. Brown, Mark D. Gilliam II, Yvanna Gilliam, Sydney Goodrich, Raymond F Ford III, Marcus J Spivey, Justin Ford, Brenndon Adkins, Timothy B. Ford, Christopher S. Ford and a host of great and great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
