Ernest Riley, 96, of Indianapolis, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017.
He was born on September 1, 1920 in Kokomo, IN to the late O. Ernest Riley, Sr. and Pearl Ruby (Mills) Riley. Ernie was a graduate of Seymour High School and served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a ‘Jack of All Trades’ working as a carpenter, jeweler and business owner. He and his wife, Ruth, owned and operated the Grand Central Station Bar and Grill for many years.
Ernie is survived by his daughters, Sandra (Larry) Sprinkle, Alissa Weaver, Michele (Oscar) England – Alarcon; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; and loving wife, Ruth Riley.
A visitation will take place from 12-2pm on Thursday, July 27, 2017 with a funeral service to follow at 2pm, both at Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in Washington Park East Cemetery. Friends are invited to leave online condolences for the family at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
