84 years old, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017. He was born January 9, 1933 in West Baden, Indiana to Elza and Vevia (Pierson) Qualkenbush. He married the love of his life, Marilynn, in 1955 on July 23.
After graduating West Baden High School, Ernest joined the Army where he served in Germany during the Korean War. Upon his return to the states, he worked as a gauge inspector for General Motors. After 36 years with GM, he retired at the age of 56. Ernest will be remembered as an avid, lifetime golfer, skilled (or lucky as some might say) enough to have accomplished two hole in ones. For the last 25 years, Ernest and his wife enjoyed spending 6 months of the year basking in the warm air of Arizona.
Ernest is preceded in death by his wife, Marilynn, parents, four siblings, and his loving granddaughter, Jessica Qualkenbush.
He is survived by his children, Michael Qualkenbush, Debra Qualkenbush (Kathy), and Richard Qualkenbush.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 12, 2017, from 11-1 PM, with services at 1 PM, at Flanner and Buchanan –Decatur 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis, IN, 46221.
