Ernest J. Sangar

Ernest J. Sangar— loving father and friend to many passed away on June 27, 2022. The youngest of six children, Ernest was born in Pakistan on February 22, 1954 to his parents, Samuel and Gulzar Sangar.  In 1965, Ernest migrated to the United States with his mother to join his father in Indianapolis, Indiana.  At the age of 11, Ernest was admitted to IPS as a sixth grader.  Later he joined Westlane Middle School and then graduated from North Central High School in 1972.  He went on to graduate from the University of Indianapolis earning a double Bachelor’s degree in both Chemistry and Biology.  Ernest previously worked at Dow Chemical Co. and Indianapolis Power & Light as a chemical engineer. He was a member of the Witherspoon Presbyterian Church and was well-recognized in the Indianapolis community.

He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Gena Sangar and Sabrina Sangar.  Ernest was adored by his three sisters, two brothers, nieces and nephews, and other family members.   He was genuine, witty and a treasured member of the Sangar family. He will be remembered with deep love.

Visitation is at 12 noon with funeral service at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022 at Flanner Buchanan- Washington Park North  2706 Kessler Blvd. W. Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46228.
