Emma Ellen Burdine, 85, of Greenfield, passed away May 27th, 2022. She was born March 9th, 1937 to parents John and Letha (Hankins) Kirgan.
On May 9th, 1953, Emma married the love of her life James Burdine. They shared 69 wonderful years together.
Emma worked as a hairdresser for many years, a job she excelled at and enjoyed, before she retired in 1998.
She and James attended of Outlook Christian Church.
Emma was a vibrant, loving woman. She was a collector of many things, lighthouses, frog figurines, angels, and much more. Emma loved the sunshine and the beach. She and her husband James enjoyed their yearly vacations in Sanibel, Florida. She was an excellent cook and host, regularly hosting the families holiday festivities at her home. Above all, Emma adored her family and took great pride in being a devoted wife, mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.
She is survived by her husband James; children: Jim (Jeannie) Burdine, Lu Ann (Jeff) Bolander, Debbie (Kerry) Esters, Tim (Alisa) Burdine, and Otis (Kay) Burdine; 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings.
Visitation for Emma will be Wednesday, June 1st, at Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East from 1pm-3pm. Her funeral will begin at 3pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
