Emilia Leon Shelton was the daughter of Miguel and Gregoria Dorado. She was born in Spain on November 19, 1944. Emilia and her younger sister, Rosita Dorado were both devoted Catholics and accepted Jesus at a very early age.
Earlier in life, Emilia enjoyed the birth of two daughters, Mara and Otillia Leon. Emilia also had a son, Miguel Leon. As her children grew older, she met her husband, Wayne T. Shelton Sr. Wayne Sr. was serving in the United States Airforce during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Spain. Wayne Sr. and Emilia began dating in the mid 60’s and later moved to the United States of America where they joined in the Holy Matrimony in 1974. In marriage they conceived a daughter, Susan Rogers and son, Wayne Shelton Jr.
Emilia worked for Humana Women’s Hospital for approximately 27 years before retiring. After retiring, Emilia enjoyed being a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Emilia was extremely driven to provide all she had for her family here in America and in Spain. Emilia had few friends, however, she had several extremely close friends. Those friends are Paula Gilbert, Dora Whittaker, Ola Hill, and Sandra Craig. Emilia consider them family.
