Emilia Luisa Moralejo Infante Jova, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away on August 16, 2020. She was born on April 24, 1923, in the town of Banes, Oriente Province, in Cuba, and immigrated to the United States with her husband and children in October 1958. She lived in Madrid, Spain during part of her early childhood. Emilia was a graduate of the School of Pharmacy of the University of Havana and owned and managed a pharmacy in Cuba. She studied piano at the Havana Conservatory of Music and played classical and Cuban music beautifully. After moving to the United States, she enjoyed giving piano lessons for many years and served as an accompanist to vocal performance students at recitals for college scholarships and regional competitions. Emilia loved spending time with her family and cooking Cuban food for them. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting and crocheting for her family and friends. She taught her children to love and care for animals and was devoted to her pets throughout her life. She smiled and laughed easily and saw the best in people. She was generous and kind. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Silvio R. Jova, M.D, her son Dr. Mario A. Rivera, Ph.D., and her brother Julio Moralejo. She is survived by her brother Jose Antonio Moralejo, her children Fernando, Paul, and Silia Jova (Tim Monaghan), her daughter-in-law Ana Rivera, and her granddaughters, Natalie and Emily Monaghan and Alyssa, Sara and Gabriella Rivera. Dr., Indianapolis, Indiana. A private interment is planned for August 25, 2020, at Washington Park North Cemetery in Indianapolis, Indiana.
