Emerito Baluja

Emerito Baluja was born in Havana, Cuba on October 12, 1931. He passed away at 91 in his home in Indianapolis, Indiana surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents and 8 of his siblings. He immigrated from Cuba in the late 1960s to Chicago, Illinois, where he worked for Rand McNally and would later work for and retire from Vapor Corporation. He met his wife in Chicago, Illinois in the mid-1970s and they would go on to have 2 children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. In the early 2000s, he briefly moved to Orlando, Florida where he made many meaningful connections and enjoyed time away from the snow. He is survived by his wife, 2 children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, at Flanner Buchanan – Speedway at 2950 N. High School Road in Indianapolis. Funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2023, at St. Gabriel’s Catholic Church at 6000 W. 34th St. He will be laid to rest in West Ridge Park Cemetery, 9295 W. 21^st St, following the Funeral Mass.

Emerito Baluja, falleció en Indianápolis, Indiana el día 25 de Enero del 2023. A la edad de 91 años. Su esposa, dos hijos, nueve nietos, y dos bisnietos, ruegan  una oración por su alma.

Fue un buen hombre, esposo, padre, abuelo y bisabuelo. El velorio será el Martes 31 de Enero 2023 en Flanner Buchanan – Speedway, 2950 N. High School Rd. de 4pm a 7pm. La misa fúnebre será el Miércoles 1 Febrero 2023 a las 11am. El sepelio fúnebre culminará en West Ridge Park Cemetery 9295 W. 21 St.
