Ellie Lee McGuffey-Hammons

Ellie Lee McGuffey-Hammons, 74 of Pendleton, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2024.

Ellie was born on August 9, 1950 in Cincinnati, Ohio, a daughter of Bulford and Rose Lee Roberts. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Ellie was the youngest of three children.  She is preceded in death by her brother Walter Roberts and her sister Jenny Perry.

Ellie was married to Joseph Fulton. They divorced.

She married Walter McGuffey. Walter preceded her in death in 1992.

She later married Jerry Hammons. Jerry preceded her in death in 2017.

Ellie is survived by two children: Joe Fulton of Indianapolis, Indiana and Steven (wife Daina) Fulton of Pendleton, Indiana.

Her grandchildren: Nathan Fulton, Reyna Mancillas, Jackson Fulton, Madeline Fulton, Nick Hamman, Gavin Hamman, and Lucas Hamman.

Ellie grew up in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Throughout her professional career she worked as a files clerk for the Defense Finance and Accounting Service. (DFAS).

Ellie loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed watching them play sports and perform on stage. She also enjoyed working in her yard and being outside. You could often find her reading the newspaper and enjoying the sun on a Saturday afternoon. 

Ellie was a loving mother and grandmother who will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Memorial Park, located at 9350 E. Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana.

Her funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM.  Chaplain Tom Bartley will officiate.

Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery where Ellie will be laid to rest with Walter.
