Elizabeth “Lorraine” Twigg, age 95 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Saturday afternoon, August 31, 2024.

Lorraine was born on August 10, 1929 in Donora, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Burt and Lucy Jane (Shaw) Hunt.

She married Edward “Buddy” M. Twigg on November 5, 1947 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania.

He preceded her in death on April 29, 2004.

Lorraine is survived by her children: Peggy Ranschaert of Indianapolis, Indiana, Dennis (wife Louise) Twigg of Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, Terry (wife Debbie) Twigg of Huntington, Indiana, Larry (wife Marilyn) Twigg of Cedarville, Ohio, and Milo Twigg of Indianapolis.

Grandchildren: Eddie, Mary, Milo, Esther, DJ, Lydia, Matt and David as well as 17 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by one daughter: Mary Jane Twigg who passed away in 1976, as well as her son in law David Ranschaert who passed away in 2007.

Lorraine’s main loves were God, Family, and Traveling.

She taught Sunday school for several years and helped in the Church Nursery. She would take the whole family to church services every week with her. While her kids were in school, she worked full-time from time to time so that her kids would have everything needed for the best possible experience at school and home. During the summer along with her husband, she would pack up the trailer and take the family to incredible places, including places like the Grand Canyon, Smoky Mountains, Rocky Mountains, and Mammoth Cave to name just a few. The family was incredibly important to Her. She would take the family back to Pennsylvania to spend time with their grandparents and other relatives.

Lorraine didn’t like to just sit around, so on several occasions she would pack a picnic basket and take the family to Giest Reservoir or a state park and spend hours hiking. She loved the outdoors and seeing new sights. It was important to her that the family stayed together and have great memories of us doing things as a family. She was very talented at making clothing and doing crafts. She made pants, Dresses, Suits, and even the veil for her oldest son’s wedding. She worked at Cloth World and made some of the model garments that the company used for displays. She was equally talented in painting ceramics and plaster crafts. She eventually got her own Kiln because of how many ceramic items she was painting for her family. As mentioned, she loved to travel, so when her husband passed away, she eventually started to go on cruises. Her favorite two places were Alaska and Israel. She loved seeing the Holy Land, and where Jesus was buried and came back to life.

Lorraine would want to leave everyone knowing at least one Bible verse, John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
