Elizabeth Ann Fullom, 83, of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at IU Hospital in Avon, Indiana.
Elizabeth was born August 28, 1940, in Linton, Indiana to Ruth E. (Leavitt) Vincent and Rex R. Fullom. She was the older sister of twin brothers, Edward P. Hash and Frederick H. Hash. She was Aunt Liz to Lori (Rob) Christie, Amy (Elmer) Wilson and Scott (Lisa) Hash and 13 great-nieces and nephews.
Elizabeth grew up in Worthington, Indiana surrounded by the Leavitt family, often stating that her cousins were more like siblings. She was very proud of her Green County roots and delighted in telling stories of her youth. After graduating from Worthington-Jefferson High School, Elizabeth moved to Indianapolis to attend the Methodist Hospital School of Nursing. While in nursing school, she committed her life to Christ and placed her membership at the Ray Street Church of the Nazarene. She continued her education and earned a Master of Science in Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Elizabeth used her nursing skills while serving for 6 years with the Church of the Nazarene World Missions in South Africa. In addition to her medical work, Elizabeth served as a bush pastor and presented the Gospel to many people. She enjoyed traveling the continent and had many stories of her African adventures with life-long friends. Upon returning to the States, Elizabeth continued living a life of ministry and service at Westside and Southwest Churches of the Nazarene in Indianapolis. Elizabeth was also one of the founding members of Shepard Community Center, Indianapolis, Indiana.
Most of Elizabeth’s nursing career was spent at Richard L. Roudebush Veterans Administration Medical Center. Elizabeth retired as a Surgical ICU Charge Nurse after 32 years of service.
Elizabeth enjoyed taking care of her beautiful home and yard. She loved hosting friends and family gatherings. Her family, friends and neighbors meant so much to her.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her mother Ruth E. (Leavitt) Vincent, stepfather William Vincent, father Rex R. Fullom, and brother Edward P. Hash.
A memorial service for Elizabeth will occur on May 23, 2024, at Southwest Church of the Nazarene, with a Memorial Gathering for family and friends from 4:30-6pm and a Celebration of Life beginning at 6pm.
