Elizabeth Eileen (Evans) Cassida, 90 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 20, 2017. She was born August 19, 1927 in Quincy, Indiana to Everett Loys and Lillian Mabel (Truax) Evans. She graduated from Quincy High School in 1945. She moved to Indianapolis in 1948 and married the love of her life, Kenneth Allen on September 19, 1948 in Cloverdale, IN. She worked in the food service industry for many years, retiring in 1982. She enjoyed going to garage sales and was an avid Pacers fan.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and is survived by her husband of 68 years, Kenneth, daughters, Carolyn (Lon) Lyke of Indianapolis, Cathy Harvey of Camby, son, Kenneth Ray (Donna) of Speedway, sister, Colita (Don) Wilson of Indianapolis, sister-in-law, Helen Pigg of Lafayette, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family wishes to thank all the physicians and nurses at St. Vincent and St. Frances for all of their care.
Friends may visit with her family from 11 AM until service time at 1 PM Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan – Decatur Township, 5463 Kentucky Avenue, Indianapolis. She will be laid to rest at Cloverdale Cemetery. Please share memories and condolences at www.flannerbuchanan.com.
