Elizabeth“Betty” Louise (Payne) Wills, 89, of Indianapolis, passed away August 17, 2017.She was born May 13, 1928 in Kankakee, Illinois to the late Justin and RuthPayne. A 1946 graduate of Howe High School, Betty worked for many years as abookkeeper for the law firm Bingham Summers Welsh & Spilman before herretirement in 1990. She was an active member of Emerson Avenue Baptist Churchfor nearly 80 years.
Betty was preceded in death by husband of 64 years,M. Leon Wills. She’s survived by brother, Robert (Virginia) Payne of Aliso Viejo, California; children, Donna Wills ofIndianapolis, Doug (Beth) Wills of Greenfield, and Dave (Debbie) Wills ofIndianapolis; grandchildren, Star (Kurt) Voigt of Fishers, Justin (Toni Calhoun) Wills of New Palestine, Alisha (Eric Anderson) Wills of Fortville, and Ben Wills ofWashington, D.C.; three great-granddaughters, Carlie Foreman, Jade Calhoun andKayla Wills; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, andlife-long friends.
Visitationwill be Thursday, August 24 from 4 to 8 p.m. Services for Betty will be Friday,August 25 at 10 a.m. at Flanner and Buchanan–Washington Park East, 10722 EastWashington Street, Indianapolis.
