Elizabeth "Bettie" E. Woerpel

Bettie Woerpel, beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, passed away on November 4, 2024 surrounded by her family.

Bettie was born in Louisville, KY on January 10, 1943 to Orville Lee and Ariadne Elizabeth (nee Crowe) Easley. Bettie grew up in Indianapolis, IN and graduated from Broad Ripple High School in 1960.

Bettie and Dwayne R. “Duwe” Woerpel were married in 1968 and enjoyed 32 wonderful years together until Duwe’s passing in 2001.

A loving and devoted mother to Robert T. Hendrickson, Jr. (born in 1963) and Diane Elizabeth Cooper (born in 1969), she always put her family first – supporting and attending their various events and activities, family trips, and gatherings.

Bettie is predeceased by her parents, her sister Nora, and Dwayne. She leaves behind her son, Robert, and daughter and son-in-law Diane and D. Christopher Cooper, her grandsons Thomas and Garrett Hendrickson (wife Isabel), brothers Lee (Diana), Jim (Joan), Bill, and John (Maria) Easley, nieces Rebecca (Patrick) Talty and Kate (Chad) White, great granddaughter, Fiona, and many friends who were part of her life.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the Humane Society for Hamilton County or the National Cancer Institute.
