Elizabeth Ann Edwards

92, of Brownsburg, IN passed away on September 22, 2017. She was born in Indianapolis, IN on May 9, 1925 to parents, George W. and Hazel (O’Neal) Schumaker. Elizabeth was a teacher with Lawrence Township Schools, retiring in 1980 from Craig Middle School. In retirement, Elizabeth enjoyed traveling abroad, gardening, playing Bridge and golfing.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hazel; husband, James J. Edwards; daughter, Debbra Maudlin; sister, Mary Frances Edwards and brother, George W. Schumaker.

She is survived by her sons, James J. Edwards, II (Yvonne) and Scott W. Edwards (Judith); 9 grandchildren: Joy Garland (Dave), Jimmy Edwards (April), Mason Tate, Sara Tate, Emily Edwards, Kurt Edwards (Jennifer), Michael Hendrickson (Stacy), Stacy Edwards and Justin Edwards; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial gathering will be held from 12 Noon until 1pm on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Flanner and Buchanan– Washington Park East, located at 10722 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, IN 46229, where her memorial service will immediately follow at 1pm. Inurnment will follow services in Washington Park East Cemetery.
