Eilene Welcher

Eilene was born September 11, 1927, in Kankakee, Illinois, to Ralph and Gertrude Laws.
Eilene was married to Eugene Welcher on March 17, 1950. Eilene was a homemaker. An active member of Speedway United Methodist Church and Women’s Circle, she also enjoyed gardening, cooking, the Indianapolis 500 race season, and most of all,her family.

She was preceded in death by all her siblings (three sisters, one brother) and her husband.
Despite Eilene’s many longstanding health challenges, she remained positive, giving, and generous. She went to heaven March 12, 2017.
She is survived by her daughter, Lana Welcher Christian, grandson, Jonathan Christian, and grandchildren, Roman and Donovan Christian.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 15, from 5 to 8 p.m., with services Thursday, March 16 at 1 p.m. with additional visitation one hour prior at Flanner and Buchanan-Speedway, 2950 High School Road, Indianapolis, IN. Entombment will be next to her beloved husband at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
