Eileen T Wallace (O'Brien) was born October 16, 1927 in Indianapolis. She was a graduate of Butler College of Pharmacy first graduating class and one of only three women in her class. September 3, 1949 she married her partner of 68 years, Leonard J Wallace. They had three daughters; Nancy, Cindy and Terri.
She enjoyed her family, dancing with her husband, family card games, movies, trips to Las Vegas and a good clearance rack. In their retirement Eileen and Leonard volunteered their time at Community Hospital East for over 19 years.
Eileen never met someone she couldn't (wouldn't) talk to. Those that knew her best would say she was often the life of the party, always had a big smile, and she really liked to talk. She was smart, funny and very proud of her Irish heritage.
When once asked what one word she would want on her tombstone, her answer was “mother”. A role she thoroughly embraced along with sister, pioneer, wife, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and family matriarch.
A service (11am) and Celebration of Life (immediately following) are planned for Thursday, January 11 at Flanner Buchanan 2706 Kessler Blvd West Drive, Indianapolis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Miracle Place, 940 N Temple, Indianapolis. Flanner Buchanan Indianapolis.
