Edward “Eddie” Tanber, 74, of Greenwood passed away peacefully on Wednesday February 8, 2018.
He was born on March 19, 1943 in South Bend to Emil and Dolores Tanber. After graduating high school, he enrolled in the Indiana National Guard. After retiring from Irving Materials, Inc. (IMI) Eddie volunteered his time with a number of charitable organizations. His most notable was with the Indiana Salvation Army and helping with relief efforts in Louisiana after Hurricane Katrina.
He is preceded in passing by his father and mother, Emil and Dolores Tanber, and his brother, Ronald Tanber.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his son Chris Tanber (fiancé Kristin Trombley) and nephew/friend Derek Tanber.
Eddie loved to travel, spend time with his close friends, and watch motorsports races. He was also a large advocate for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Humane Society.
