Edward Calvin Hidinger

November 3, 1925 — October 11, 2017

Edward Calvin Hidinger, 91, of Gulf Breeze FL, passed away Wednesday October 11, 2017. Ed was a native of Indianapolis, IN, a WWII Veteran and the youngest of three children born to the late Harry J. and Mary R. Hidinger.

Ed was a graduate of Manual High School in Indianapolis, IN. Following High School Ed became an apprentice printing career, duty called and Ed quickly responded by enlisting in the United States Navy, December 24, 1942.

Following three plus years of active duty and multiple military campaigns aboard the USS Oakland, Seaman First Class, Ed Hidinger, was Honorably Discharged from the United States navy on January, 25 1946, then returned home, married Iris J. Evanoff and continued his printing career with C.E. Pauleys in Indianapolis.
He was preceded in death by a grandson Ryan Edward Hidinger, Wife of 38 years Iris J. Hidinger, Brother Harry Jr. and Sister rose.

Ed is survived by his daughter, Pamela Stevens of Indianapolis, IN; Son, Mark Hidinger of Gulf Breeze, FL; Daughter In law, Vicki Hidinger of Gulf Breeze, FL; Grandson, Scott Hidinger of Los Angeles, CA; Granddaughter, Kara (Smith) Hidinger of Atlanta, GA; Grandson Matt Hidinger of Sacramento, CA; Grandson, Andrew Hidinger of Gulf Breeze, FL; Great Granddaughter, Cora Hidinger of Los Angeles, CA; and Great Granddaughter Lilly Smith of Atlanta, GA.

A Memorial service for Edward Hidinger will be held at 11:00am, Monday, November 6th, 2017 at the Flanner and Buchanan – Washington Park East. 10722 E. Washington St. Indianapolis, IN 46229. A graveside ceremony will immediately follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
