Edna May Garrity

Edna May (Odom) Garrity, age 77, of Indianapolis, Indiana, went to be with The Lord and Savior on February 12, 2020. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Edna was one of twelve children. She was born to the late James Madison Odom and the late Ada (Piroy) Odom in Indianapolis, Indiana on April 15, 1942.

Edna was the beloved mother of six children, fifteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. To say she was well loved would be an understatement. She was an involved member of her church, The Church of Latter Day Saints, a valued employee of the Wayne Township School District and a loving friend. The loss of Edna leaves a hole in the hearts of all those who were lucky enough to be touched by her beautiful soul.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ada Odom; ten of her siblings; and three of her children, the late Eugene Peter Wandling Jr. “Junior”, The late Loretta Sue Crawford, and the late Richard Allen Wandling.

Left to cherish the precious memory of Edna are her loving children, Dennis Lee Wandling, Sheila Ann Wandling, and Alisha Marie Nicholson; her sister Sharon Tomey; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.

All are welcome to attend a visitation for Edna on Monday, February 17, 2020 at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park from 4-8pm. A funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at Flanner Buchanan – Floral Park beginning at 2:30pm. Edna will be laid to rest at Floral Park Cemetery.
