Edna Lydia (Williams) Lindley went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 11, 2017. She was born in Montgomery County, IN, on March 12, 1921, the daughter of Elmer and Lucy Williams. Edna married the love of her life, Willard Lindley, on August 5, 1941. She was a devoted wife and mother and made homemaking and family her top priorities. A member of Speedway United Methodist Church, she was active in United Methodist Women and Women’s Circle.
Edna is survived by her three children; Bill (Sarah) Lindley, Bob (Becky) Lindley, and Betty (David) Mundy as well as seven grandchildren; Todd Lindley, Tamara Burdsall, Heather (Patrick) Nally, Trent (Emily) Lindley, Matt Mundy, Dan (Jennifer) Mundy, and Sarah (Jarod) Lane, and eleven great grandchildren. She is also survived by a beloved brother, Merle (Eleanor) Williams, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, and four siblings.
Calling will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2017, at Flanner Buchanan Speedway from 5 to 8 p.m. with additional calling on Friday November 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will be at Rush Creek Cemetery, Bloomingdale, IN at 2:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to either the Salvation Army or to the Rush Creek Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund.
