Edmund Warren Finley, Sr., 91, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021. He was born on October 7, 1929 in Elmwood Park, IL to the late Orr and Christina Finley. He was the last surviving son of 11 brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by the sunshine of his life, Connie and his loving daughter Victoria Sutrina.
He spent most of his life in River Grove, Illinois, where he was a volunteer firefighter for 50 years. He was active in the River Grove Nationals Athletic Club.
He retired from Borg Warner Spring Division in 1990 after 43 dedicated years there.
Above all, he was devoted to his family, proud of his Irish heritage, and thrilled to have seen his beloved Chicago Cubs win the 2016 World Series.
He will be dearly missed by his son, Edmund, Jr. (Maryann); grandchildren, James Sutrina, Rachel Doyel (Charles), Ryan Finley (Megan), Shane Finley (Jason Myhre), Sean Finley (Mallory); great grandchildren, Gabrielle and William Doyel and Callen Finley; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A private family service and visitation will be held Monday, March 8 at Flanner Buchanan-Carmel. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chicago Cubs Charities or to the donor’s favorite charity. Livestream of the funeral will be available at 1:00PM on March 8th.click here
