Edgar “Eddie” “Ed” Lee Dyer, Sr. was a father, grandfather, and friend. He left this world peacefully on October 20, 2021, at the age of 76 in Indianapolis, IN.
He was born to Vernon and Georgia (Adkins) Dyer on March 11, 1945 in Olive Hill, KY. After high school, Ed went on to serve his country in the United States Army where he served for 4 years. He was stationed in Germany after basic training.
After completing his term in the service, he met Joyce (Bilger) McClain and welcomed two sons Edgar Lee Dyer, Jr. and Steven Vernon Dyer. He moved to Mount Union, Pennsylvania where he happily resided for over 40 years until moving to Indianapolis.
Ed loved spending his free time fishing, visiting local taverns, and playing music and cards with his friends.
He is preceded in death by his second wife Caroline Stayrook along with his eldest son Eddie Dyer.
Ed is survived by his son, Steven Dyer and grandchildren, Alexis and Valerie Dyer, and Matthew Elmore. His cheerful attitude will be greatly missed at Northwest Healthcare Center where he resided.
A private service will be held at Flanner Buchanan Speedway on Sunday, October 24, 2021 from 1-3pm.
