Earl M. Click of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on January 28, 2021. He was 95 years old. He is survived by: his wife of 70 years, Harriett M. Click, his son, Steven Click, his two daughters, Janet Fitzherbert and Kathleen Swinford, his daughter-in-law, Joyce Click, and his two sons-in-law, Tim Taylor and Robert Swinford. Earl is also survived by his four grandchildren: Allyn Fitzherbert, Nathan Click, Tessa Sargent and her husband Daniel Sargent, and Brad Swinford and his wife Meghan Swinford. Earl also has three great grandchildren: Paige Swinford, Colin Swinford and Parker Swinford.
Earl was a child of the Great Depression. His parents were Lawrence and Thelma Click. He was raised from a young age by his foster parents, Fred and Grace Hinchman. Earl thrived in that family that included their daughter and son-in-law, Katie and Don Boyd. Earl became a good student, a musician, an Eagle scout and then joined the Army Air Corps towards the end of World War II. Upon returning from service in Europe, he attended Butler University and was a member of Sigma Nu Fraternity. In 1950, Earl graduated from Butler and started his career at Central Rubber and Supply in Indianapolis. He became their top salesman and retired from that same company after 37 years of service.
In 1948 Earl met the love of his life, Harriett. They were married in 1950. They raised three children, had four grandchildren and three great grandchildren, had many friends and were members of the Lawrence United Methodist Church for many years.
