Earl E. Puckett Sr.

Earl Eugene Puckett, Sr. passed away on September 6, 2022, at the age of 78.  Earl was born in Ashland, KY on November 1, 1943, to parents, Harley Drew and Dolly Marie (Williams) Puckett.  Earl was a dedicated family man and worked hard to provide for his family.  Earl had that “Puckett Pride”.  He was a man of strong integrity, if he gave you his word, he meant it!  He retired from Navistar, where he worked as a machinist.  He also owned and operated, Puckett Flooring, for over forty years.  While Earl always said one of his biggest regrets was not being able to spend more time with his kids while they were growing up, they never doubted the love that he had for them.

Earl loved spending time with family and friends especially family cookouts and the chance to enjoy his daughter, Vikki’s cooking.  He appreciated a good steak dinner and could not get enough of his wife Diana’s carrot cake. Earl relished in the opportunity to tell a good, “Dad Joke”.  He would get so tickled trying to relay the joke, that he would go into one of his character, deep belly laughs, before completing the punch line.  Earl also enjoyed traveling to Florida, riding his trike, and short getaway drives.

Earl was preceded in death by wife, Diana (Baskerville) Puckett; siblings: Billy Puckett, Dean Puckett, Mike Puckett and Debbie Robbins.

Survivors include his wife, Sharolyn Puckett; children: Vickie D. McClure, Earl E. Puckett, Jr., and Diana Lynn Westervelt; siblings: Eddie Puckett, Larry Puckett, Terry Puckett and Paul Puckett; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other loving extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Monday, September 12, 2022 and again from 12-1pm on Tuesday September 13^th at Flanner Buchanan-Washington Park East (10722 E. Washington St, Indpls).  Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Tuesday, September 13th, also at the funeral center.  Entombment will be in Washington Park East Cemetery.
