Duwayne E. Anderson

Duwayne E. Anderson of Indianapolis died peacefully on July 23, 2018 at the age of 69 after a long and courageous fight with Parkinson’s.

Duwayne was a 1967 graduate of Broad Ripple High School.  He worked for over 30 years for Chrysler at the Shadeland plant until it’s closing and then more recently at the Newcastle plant.  He was a hard worker who would give you the shirt off his back.  He enjoyed golfing, fishing, and was an avid sports fan even coaching a Championship basketball team with the Special Olympics. He loved old cars and completely restored a 1969 Barracuda. Having a love for speed, he raced in the 1990 Summertime Nationals. He will be remembered as the fast moving, athletic, giving, and all around good guy that will be missed greatly.

He is survived by his children Jennifer Tester (Eric), Michelle Anderson, and Emily Canter (Darin); and grandchildren Lilly, Tommy, Isaac, Grace and Magnus Tester.  He was preceded in death by his daughter Sarah Marie Anderson; parents Wilbur Ford Anderson Sr. and Doris Lee Anderson; brother Wilbur Ford Anderson Jr; and grandchildren Aggie Mae, Goldie Rae, Bjorn Noel and Rosie Blessing Tester.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Friday, August 3 from 3 to 5 PM at Flanner Buchanan – Washington Park East, 10722 E. Washington St, Indianapolis. A Memorial Service will follow at 5 PM at the funeral home. He will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery later date.
