Dorothy M. Plummer

Dorothy M. Plummer passed peacefully to heaven at 97 years young on June 10, 2023.

Born in Beecher, Illinois on October 21, 1925, to Jacob Schaflein & Mary Agnes Mitch, the younger of two sisters.  She graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis.  “Dotty”, as she loved being called, Married Harold Plummer on October 9, 1947.  He preceded her in death in 2018.

She was a devoted stay at home mom raising two children, until they completed high school.  She then entered the business world as a credit investigator for Bank One, for 24 years.  She enjoyed traving the U.S. with friends, time spent at Heritage Lake, weekly hair appointments, her extended family visits, weekly bingo, card clubs, reading and casino slot gambling.  She was a life long member of Old Bethel United Methodist Church and a volunteer at Community Hospital (East) in the “Love and Sharing” volunteer group.

She is survived by her children, son Stephen (wife Sherry) Plummer, and daughter Janet (husband Mike) Lucas.

Grandchildren Brian  (Leah) Lucas, Cindy (Scott) Clark, Katherine (Kris) Zinszer.

Six great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Contribution in lieu of flowers can be donated to Riley Hospital for Children.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Flanner Buchanan Washington Park East Funeral Center.  Her funeral will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery.
